Hi there! We’re Steve & Abi, the husband & wife team behind UK interiors brand Vaunt Design.
The vision for our brand was simple: to offer completely original, in-house designs that we’d be proud to have in our own home for years to come.
We were tired of the low-quality, mass-produced products we kept encountering and knew that if we looked hard enough, we’d find artisan makers who could help us offer high-quality, exclusive designs at an affordable price.
Today, Vaunt is a thriving business that’s going from strength to strength, proving that many of you out there believe in the same things we do. We thank everyone for being with us on our journey so far—the best is yet to come.

Our timeline
As a family business, we’re proud of our humble beginnings and how we’ve been able to carry those values through to the present day. Read below to discover a little about how we got to where we are, and where we’re going.
Sourcing the perfect manufacturers
At the start, we had a vision. We now needed the right manufacturers to bring it to life. Over two years we visited India, Vietnam, Paris, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Stockholm and attended numerous trade shows.
After an exhaustive search, we partnered with two family-run companies in Rajasthan, India, known for their exceptional quality, ethical working conditions, and commitment to sustainability.
With the groundwork finally in place, it was time to focus on the exciting part - bringing our ideas to life.
Designing our first collection
Starting out in the furniture industry, we needed guidance. Our two new partners, with their extensive knowledge of the furniture-making region of Rajasthan, were invaluable.
They helped us refine our vision and created a shortlist of products that would form the foundation of our store.
Their expertise shaped the early stages of our design journey, setting us on the right path as we began to bring our creations to life.
Final adjustments and our first order
We made several trips back to India, focusing on the finer details—finishes, colors, and product testing. Our partners’ expertise helped us refine each piece until we were fully satisfied with the quality.
Once everything was just right, we placed our first order: a 20-foot container filled with carefully crafted designs, marking a major step toward launching our store. It was the moment where all the planning and hard work started to feel real.
The first shipment arrives
We rented a small unit in the north of Nottingham to prepare for the arrival of our first shipment. After months of hard work, the day the container arrived was incredibly exciting.
Unloading the boxes and seeing the pieces we had carefully selected and designed in person for the first time felt surreal. It was a true milestone, marking the start of what we knew would be a long journey.
Photography, branding & store are rolled out
After work, Steve dedicated his evenings to photography courses, learning the skills needed to capture our products in the best light.
Meanwhile, we developed our branding to reflect the quality and craftsmanship at the heart of our designs. On July 20th, 2018, we finally launched our online store, combining Steve’s new photography expertise, strong branding, and a user-friendly layout.
The first of many Vaunt orders is shipped
Two days after launching, we got our first order—and we were thrilled. After months of hard work, seeing that sale come through felt incredible. Packing it up and sending it out made us think—maybe we really could make this work!
Present day
Fast-forward to present day and lots has changed. Still based in our local community outside Nottingham, we’ve been able to employ a small team of people to make our day-to-day operations much easier. As we’ve grown we’ve adapted a 5500 sq ft warehouse to provide ample storage for our rapidly expanding range of products plus offices, allowing customer service, in-house design and store admin to run smoothly.
All of this gives us a fantastic base to continue to develop our brand and our offering, with many exciting developments on the horizon including showrooms, new makers and products, and new online store features.
However, we’ll never lose sight of being a local business, forging real life relationships with our supplies, our customers and our community as a whole.
