Delivery, Cancellation & Returns

Delivery:

Delivery Cost and Areas Covered:

£95 delivery per order for sofas and armchairs. UK mainland only.

General:

As every piece is handmade to order, delivery is approximately 8 - 10 weeks from the date of ordering.

Sofa deliveries are carried out by our trusted third-party delivery partner, Celtheath, using a professional White-Glove delivery service. All delivery-related communication, including the updates outlined below, will come directly from Celtheath.

  1. Once your sofa has been made, you'll be contacted to arrange a convenient delivery date. This will typically be scheduled for within 10 working days of completion.
  2. Once your delivery date has been confirmed, you'll be contacted the day before with a two-hour arrival window. This is intended as a guide rather than a guarantee, as traffic conditions and unforeseen delays with earlier deliveries can occasionally affect timings.
  3. On the day of delivery, you'll receive a call with an estimated arrival time. As deliveries are planned using efficient geographical routes, we can't guarantee specific arrival times.
  4. On arrival, your item(s) will be taken to the room of your choice, assembled where required and unpacked. Please thoroughly inspect your item(s) at this stage. In the unlikely event that your item(s) arrive with obvious damage, our delivery team will be able to return them to us immediately. Once you are satisfied and have accepted your item(s), all packaging will be removed for recycling.

Customer Responsibilities:

Checking Measurements and Access:

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all ordered furniture will fit through the access route and into the intended room before delivery.

Before placing your order, please check:

  • Doorways

  • Hallways

  • Staircases

  • Lifts

  • Ceiling heights

  • Turning spaces

Please refer to our Sofa Fitting Guide before placing your order to ensure your chosen sofa will fit comfortably within your property.

If you have any concerns regarding access, we strongly recommend contacting our team before placing your order.

As all Vaunt Design sofas and upholstered furniture are handmade to order, we are unable to accept returns or cancellations where delivery cannot be completed due to restricted access or incorrect measurements.

Preparing for Delivery:

To help ensure a smooth delivery, customers are responsible for:

  • Providing a clear route to the room of choice by removing any obstacles such as ornaments, pictures, lamps, rugs, bicycles, buggies, plant pots, vases and other items that could obstruct access. This includes any exterior pathways and communal areas.
  • Protecting delicate flooring and carpets. Whilst our delivery crews will always take great care and wear shoe covers where possible, this may not always be practical when carrying large and heavy furniture.
  • Being available to receive the delivery on the agreed date and time. If no one is available, our delivery crew can wait for a maximum of 10 minutes before continuing with their scheduled route.

Advising Parking & Access Restrictions:

Customers must advise us in advance of any parking restrictions, red routes, width restrictions or other access limitations that may affect delivery.

Deliveries within London can be particularly challenging due to parking restrictions, especially when using a 26ft delivery vehicle. Where the only practical way to complete a delivery involves the risk of receiving a parking penalty, Celtheath will contact you beforehand to obtain your agreement to cover any parking fines incurred.

Where appropriate, Celtheath will challenge any parking penalty notices received, and many are successfully cancelled.

For safety and legal reasons, our delivery vehicles cannot stop or park on red routes, except within designated loading bays during the permitted loading times. Where suitable access cannot be provided, an alternative delivery arrangement may be required.

Failed Deliveries:

Failed deliveries resulting from restricted or inadequate access, the customer being unavailable to receive the goods, or other circumstances outside our control, may incur additional delivery, collection and/or re-delivery charges.

Cancellation & Returns:

Every Vaunt Design sofa and upholstered item is handmade to order, built specifically for you in your chosen size, configuration and fabric. Unlike stock furniture, each piece enters production specifically for your requirements and cannot be resold as new.

For this reason, amendments or cancellations may only be possible within 48 hours of placing your order. After this point, materials may have been ordered, allocated and production scheduled, meaning we are unable to stop manufacture.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, made-to-order and personalised goods are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation rights that normally apply to online purchases. Once production has begun, we are therefore unable to accept cancellations or returns unless the item is faulty or not as described in accordance with your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

As our sofas are made specifically for each customer, we cannot accept returns for:

  • Change of mind
  • The item does not suit your home or décor
  • A change in personal preference after ordering
  • Incorrect room measurements
  • Access restrictions preventing delivery
  • Any other reason unrelated to a manufacturing fault or product description

If something isn't right:

We take great pride in the quality of every sofa we produce. In the unlikely event that an issue arises, we'll always work with you to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Where appropriate, we reserve the right to inspect, repair or replace the affected item or component before offering a refund or other remedy. In many cases, this provides the quickest and most effective solution while ensuring your furniture meets the high standards we expect.

Depending on the nature of the issue, this may include:

  • Professional repair
  • Replacement covers or cushion interiors
  • Replacement components or parts
  • An in-home service visit where appropriate

Please note that the natural characteristics of upholstered furniture, including the softening of foam, feather movement, fabric shading, pile pressure marks, creasing and slight tonal variation between fabric batches, are normal features of the materials used and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in relation to goods that are faulty, misdescribed or not of satisfactory quality.
